Limitation
Useful boundaries.
Restraint, measure, regulation, articulation, moderation, boundaries, structure
☵Water Above
☱Lake Below
Short Summary
FreeWater contained in a lake — the banks that make the water useful. The hexagram of the discipline that liberates.
You are being asked to accept a limit. A budget, a schedule, a boundary in a relationship, a scope in your work. The hexagram insists this is not a loss. The water that is contained can be drawn from. The water that floods freely is lost.
Lake holds the water
what flows beyond its banks, wastes;
the bowl makes the cup.
